This Privacy Policy explains how Pipestudy (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use our website and service (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the handling of your information as described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information.When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier. We don't see or store your Google password.
- Usage information.Courses, modules, and lessons you create, the descriptions and topics you submit, and your reading progress (which lessons you've started, completed, or bookmarked).
- Billing information. If you subscribe, our payment processor Stripe collects and stores your payment-method details. We never see or store full card numbers. We retain your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and renewal dates.
- Technical information. Server logs containing IP address, browser/user-agent, and timestamps for security, abuse prevention, and operational diagnostics.
2. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service, including authentication.
- To generate the AI-powered courses and lessons you request.
- To process subscriptions, invoices, and refunds.
- To enforce our Terms of Service and detect abuse.
- To send transactional emails (account, billing, security notices). We do not send marketing email without your opt-in.
3. Third-party processors
We use a small number of vetted providers to deliver the Service. Each receives only the data needed to do its job:
- Google — sign-in (OAuth). See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe — payments and subscription billing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI — language-model inference for course and lesson generation. The prompts we send may include the course name and learner-provided description you submit. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel — application hosting and CDN. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the processors above, with authorities when legally required, or in connection with a corporate transaction (acquisition, merger) where this Privacy Policy continues to govern the data.
5. Data retention and deletion
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing gutan.mike@gmail.com. Some records (billing receipts, security logs) may be retained for a limited period to comply with legal and accounting obligations.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/EEA, UK, California), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at gutan.mike@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights.
7. Cookies
We use a single, essential authentication cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable age). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact gutan.mike@gmail.com and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
We and our processors operate in the United States and other regions. By using the Service you consent to the transfer of your information to these regions, which may have different data protection laws than your own.
10. Security
We use industry-standard practices (TLS in transit, hashed authentication tokens, scoped database access) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by email or in-app notice.
